After a long day at the office, there’s nothing better than relaxing in front of the TV. We’ve watched plenty of shows through the years, like most people. But we wanted to compile a list of our favorite shows to rewatch. To get on this list, we’ve had to rewatch the show multiple times. And we haven’t gotten tired of them! What do you rewatch when you want to relax? Let us know in the comments.
1. Gossip Girl
Gossip Girl here! The original Gossip Girl follows the life of Upper East Siders from 2007-2012. Now on HBO Max, we can relive the drama, scheming and fashion. In the pilot, protagonist Serena van der Woodsen returns from boarding school in Connecticut to back to her normal NYC lifestyle. But a lot has changed in the months since she was gone. Follow Serena, Blair, Dan, Nate and Chuck as they take Manhattan by storm.
2. New Girl
Hey, girl…it’s Jess. Quirky and fun Jess Day moves into a loft apartment in Los Angeles with three guys. Things definitely get crazy with the romance and comedic moments. Ben loves to rewatch this show on Netflix, especially when he wants to have a relaxing night in. If you’re interested in sitcoms with heart, New Girl is for you.
3. One Tree Hill
Cue I Don’t Want to Be by Gavin DeGraw. One Tree Hill is a cult favorite, considering it lasted nine seasons. It’s also Christy’s favorite show as she is a lot like Haley James-Scott. One Tree Hill is set in a fictional town on the coast of North Carolina and follows two half-brothers who were raised in separate households. Lucas’s and Nathan’s worlds collide when both are on the Tree Hill Ravens, their high school’s basketball team. The show was known for being big on basketball, while also having some amazing early 00s rock/alternative/pop-punk music.
So, no one told you life was going to be this way? Friends is a show that continues to be popular, despite being off the air for almost 20 years. You can stream it on HBOMax or watch it on Nick at Nite daily. These six characters never fail to bring a smile to our faces and their life in the Village is iconic. We’ve seen every episode many times and the show never gets boring. However, the best characters are Pheobe and Chandler, while we can’t stand Ross.
5. How I Met Your Mother
When we hear the show title, the clever intro music immediately starts playing in our heads. Just a year after Friends left our screens, we were introduced to five new New York residents. While we admit we weren’t the biggest fans of season nine and the show’s ending, overall, this is one of our favorite comedies. There are many iconic moments, from slapsgiving to the pajama suit. If you haven’t watched How I Met Your Mother before, it’s a great way to relax and have a laugh.
You don’t have to be a lawyer to get excited by the dynamic duo that is Havery Specter and Mike Ross. Like a lot of shows, Suits is set in Manhattan, even though it was filmed in Toronto. It follows Harvey, who was just promoted to senior partner and needs to find an associate. Enter Mike: he just happened to be in the right place at the right time, despite not actually going to law school. The two work together to solve some of the biggest cases in the city, which gives them a lot of enemies. The show also has a lot of interesting and dynamic supporting characters.
It’s time for Animaniacs and we’re zaney to the max. Come join Yakko, Wakko and Dot, the Warner siblings as they do crazy things. The 90s hit children’s comedy made a comeback recently, with Hulu releasing new episodes for the first time in two decades. While the original is still the best, the new episodes still have the humor we expected. This show is one that can appeal to both kids and adults, as the humor is sometimes too advanced for children.
8. Dance Academy
This show isn’t well known, especially in the United States. That’s because Dance Academy is an Australian show set at the National Academy of Dance. Tara Webster leaves her life in the country to move to Sydney in hopes of one day joining the national ballet company. Tara faces a lot of firsts, like no longer being the best dancer, first love, first heartbreak and first time understanding what a sacrifice a dance career can be. But at least she has her two best friends Kat and Sammy along for the ride. Excuse us while we go watch another episode on Prime.
